3rd Annual Economics & Finance Forum: Can Private Corporations Do Good and Make Money?

Speakers:

Antoinette Eltz ’00 is Director of Client Relations at Hermes Investment Management, an asset management firm based in London with approximately £33 billion in AUM. She is responsible for building and developing relationships with Hermes’ clients across multiple distribution channels.

Prior to joining Hermes, Antoinette worked as a Senior Sales Director at Twelve Capital, an independent investment management company focusing on clients in the UK and Switzerland. She was also a Vice President at Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), focusing on account and product management. Antoinette has also had experience in proprietary trading, and worked as a Summer Associate at both McKinsey & Company and UBS Warburg.

Antoinette received her MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in with a concentration in Operations Management in 2005. She graduated from Swarthmore with a BA in Biology

Gustavo Schwed ’84 is a Professor of Management Practice at NYU-Stern, where he teaches courses in private equity deal analysis and finance. He is also a Visiting Lecturer at Princeton University, and currently serves as a member of Swarthmore’s Board of Managers, chairing the Finance Committee.

Prior to joining NYU-Stern, Gustavo worked in London as a Managing Director at Providence Equity Partners, a private equity firm specializing in media, communications, and education with approximately $40 billion in AUM. While there, he led a number of European buyout transactions. He was also a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, a private equity arm of Morgan Stanley, where he focused on Latin American private equity deals. Gustavo also spent three years in Brazil at Bassini, Playfair, & Associates, a private equity firm focusing on Latin American emerging markets.

Gustavo received his MBA from Stanford University in 1988. He graduated with High Honors from Swarthmore with a BA in Economics.

Robert Ottenstein ’82 is a Senior Managing Director and Partner at Evercore ISI, an investment banking advisory firm with offices in North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. His focus is primarily on the global beverages industry, and is responsible for equity research on the industry. He was named Runner-Up in Institutional Investor’s Beverages ranking in 2014.

Prior to joining Evercore ISI, Robert worked as the Global Head of Investor Relations at Anheuser-Busch InBev, shortly after InBev’s acquisition of Anheuser-Busch. He was also a Managing Director of both Equity Research and Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley, where he focused on the global chemicals and basic materials industries.

Robert received his MBA from Stanford University and his MA in PPE from the University of Oxford. He graduated from Swarthmore with a BA.
